UK LUG Tour

I say Bacon doesn’t make it past the second round!

Post-event Update:
Here are the blog posts that Jono and I did during the UK LUG Tour:

  1. My money is on the Brit.

  2. Yes, my Limey pal, but you’re genetically predisposed.

  3. Looking forward to seeing you in Gloucester on the 21st! I think Barbie is arranging stuff with Jono, but if you need a “local” to help you out with transport, hotels, curry, beer etc. then give me a shout. If you’re staying the Friday night locally, I strongly recommend visiting Gloucester Cathedral on Saturday daytime for a slice of history (and geek points, it’s where they filmed the Harry Potter movies).

  4. Thanks, Andrew…I have to get to Manchester either that night or early on Saturday. I have a morning flight back to the US on Saturday.

But, I really do enjoy curry and beer…

  5. Since when are you “Normal”?

  6. Just caught you at the GLLUG meeting last night. I was the one that had listened to the XGL podcast (I have the others downloaded, just haven’t got around to listening to them yet). Sorry I wasn’t able to stick around and have a few beers…

Great presentation. I had seen XGL before, but only on a LiveCD, so it was nice to see it on a working laptop that someone was using day to day with all their apps. And hadn’t seen the rain plugin. Useless, but great eye candy!! I’ll take a look at Banshee, but at this stage I’m more than happy with Amarok. Other than that, I already use most of the apps you’d recommended (on Ubuntu, I should add). Just discovered tomboy a few days back and I love it.

Thanks for the great presentation. If only I’d snagged the high quality give-away!!

    Tom
