Dear CEO,

We are the domain name registration organization in Asia, which mainly deal with international company’s in Asia. We have something important need to confirm with your company.

On the August 24,2008, we received an application formally. One company named “Huaxing International Venture Capital Holdings Ltd” wanted to register following Domain names:

  • bungeeconnect.asia
  • bungeeconnect.cc
  • bungeeconnect.hk
  • bungeeconnect.info
  • bungeeconnect.net.cn
  • bungeeconnect.tv
  • bungeeconnect.us

Internet brand: bungeeconnect through our body.

After our initial examination, we found that the Internet brand and domain names applied for registration are as same as your company’s name and trademark. These days we are dealing with it. If you do not know this company, we doubt that they have other aims to buy these domain names. Now we have not finished the registration of Huarong company yet, in order to deal with this issue better, Please contact us by telephone or email as soon as possible.

Best Regards,

Crack Zhang

  1. rotflmao. I thought this sort of thing died out a couple of years back? It was standard practice to sit people down with a ‘Companies House Register’ (Not sure what the US equivalent is?) then look on some sort of Doman registration site like 123 Reg for example find extensions the said company had NOT registered like .biz for example then ring them up or write to them pretending somebody had ask you to register it and that “It would really be in your best interests to have this name rather than letting your competitor have it”.

The other trick that is sometimes pulled by less than reputable Domain Name registration sites is when searching on derivatives of a company name, lets say its ‘Ted Widgets’ and you already own ted-widgets.us but you’re interested in tedwidgets.us if you don’t buy it there and then they do! So when you go back a few days later the price of the name has jumped to four times as much.

    Cheers Ted

  2. Oh come on, “You know you’re so stupid!”🙂
